Julie first got interested in theatre when she was locked in a dark stationery cupboard by a teacher at primary school and told to scream! Cast as the witch in The Tinder Box apparently her dying scream was not very dramatic and this teacher’s rehearsal technique worked a trick.  During her 20 year career she has built up extensive project management and HR experience in the voluntary sector working for charities like Oxfam, Scope, BMS World Mission and Viva.

Having not been on the stage since her teenage years she looked into joining a local theatre group in 2012, turned up to a play-reading and accidentally landed herself the lead role in a play!  Following this she was persuaded to try the role of Director taking her on a hilarious journey to stage Neville’s Island at the Unicorn Theatre in Abingdon, with great reviews.

Julie was Producer for Abingdon’s 2013 Passion Play working with our Director Sam.  Through these connections she became involved as Producer for LAMPS’ first production of Scrooge in December 2014.  Since then she has been working part-time as Development Manager for LAMPS helping to develop the organisation.  When not doing this she loves running after her two children and husband, and trying to perfect her latte art at her local church café.
